Working with Us

Working With Us

No matter how big or small, for-profit or blue-chip, we’ll treat you with the same level of professionalism, friendliness, and can-do attitude.

You want to be aware of what to anticipate while working with a corporation up front. Can they produce what you require on time and at the right pricing for your business? Will working with them be a pleasant experience? Devsight puts a lot of effort into making working with us an experience you’ll want to have again.

Keeping things simple

Nothing is more frustrating than starting a project only to realize halfway through that what you expected isn’t quite what you are receiving. Devsight gives you this assurance, so you can be certain that:

We had a gut feeling that Devsight was the best alliance for us. They took the time to thoroughly comprehend our company's operations and our goals with a really sincere and practical attitude. When we required it, they suggested what I felt was necessary... They have my highest recommendation.

How will my project work?

How a project will operate is a common question from clients. Based on the needs of the project, Devsight has a well-established approach for creating software that can handle a variety of circumstances.

Discussing your needs

Before determining an overarching approach and feature-set for the solution that would best meet your goals, we will engage in active listening, ask questions, offer suggestions, and constructively push you.

Project Proposal

We then construct and give you a formal proposal document using the information we have learned from our meetings. It outlines our relationship with you and provides details on the system’s intended feature set. It also contains

Planning

Once you give us the go-ahead to move forward, we begin the planning phase. This involves meetings with your project stakeholders and our design team, either on-site or at DevSight HQ, and is the project’s most collaborative phase. This stage is known as “Sprint Zero”.

Since communication is one of the main problems in software development, during this early stage of the project we’ll also:

We understand that most people find it difficult to imagine how something will function before the finished program is released, therefore we’ll employ cutting-edge visual tools to build a prototype of your new system at this point so you can see it take shape. Optionally, we’ll create a thorough functional specification paper outlining every aspect of the software. For fixed-price projects, it’s crucial that you comprehend and concur with this specification because it serves as the basis for the software we develop. For this reason, we avoid using technical jargon and write in plain English instead.

Development

There are two commercial models that we can work with once the design phase is approved. The first is Agile (Scrum), where we work in effective 2-week sprints to iteratively develop the program. This is the best option if you want the software developed as quickly as possible, are willing to pay on a discounted time basis, and/or the project scope is challenging to describe in full up-front.Projects with a total cost of more than £50K are typically better suited for Agile. Fixed Price is the second commercial business type. These projects are appropriate for those where the exact functional and technical requirements can be thoroughly understood and agreed upon before any coding is done. This is appropriate for smaller projects where a precise specification can be agreed upon prior to the start of any development activity (less than £50K in total cost).

Quality Assurance Testing

User acceptance testing (UAT) is carried out on a system that is distinct from the live system so that you can test features and give feedback on any defects or issues in a simulated live environment. UAT is essential to ensuring that the system is reliable in the hands of those who will be using it on a daily basis.

Hosting

Your website or software application will be uploaded to Microsoft Azure once it has been launched, where it will receive all the resilience and security precautions you would anticipate from the Public Cloud.

Training

Because our technologies are designed to be user-friendly, formal training is substantially less necessary. However, if necessary, we are pleased to provide comprehensive training alternatives, either on-site or in our development centers in Central London (Waterloo) and Farnborough, Hampshire.

Support

We’ll give your new software thorough support in the form of a Service Level Agreement (SLA), which is activated when the system is launched and includes:

Even if you don’t want ongoing support, we’re happy to provide a 1 year break-fix warranty.

We have been developing bespoke applications since 1994, during which time we have created software for a wide range of industry sectors. Take a look at our Industry pages, as well as our Software Development Awards Accreditations.
